This tumulus is situated less than 100 metres away from the Table des Marchand dolmen. It is a closed grave burial and as such is not open for the public. This tumulus was built in several phases around 4,500 BC to around 4,000 BC. The chamber had been ransacked by the 19th century and the northern extremity had been lost due to a quarry being mined (hence the name Er Vingle, quarry in Breton). The monument was "forgotten" until it was rediscovered in 1991 and, fortunately, was restored to it's present condition. The large capstone seen on the top is part of the engraved shield idol seen on the Table des Marchand pictures. RR
