To answer to your first point, I was just echoing that sentiment. It's the hardest thing to shift through the junk within neo-paganism and find the genuine. The are just a few gems but they are there.

For me he's also a hunter and I'd guess that at this time of year as well as harvesting crops people would have been hunting animals for meat to preserve over winter before the cold set in? I'm with Lorna on this one

I plan to give offering to Mabon this upcoming solstice. I don't feel that gods are unreachable at different times of year, or anything like that, I think that certain gods just come more to mind at different times in the year. If someone wished to give special honors to Mabon on the autumn equinox, I'm not going to charge in and say, "No! You're doing it wrong!". Because, to each, their own. I believe any god can be honored whenever. I'd like to think I honor all the gods I normally do, everyday, and that I would give special attention to certain ones at different times of the year, but that they are all in memory and heart.

The are just a few gems but they are there. I don't think much of it is "junk", per se, but I do believe that some, and I emphasise some neo pagans kind of find something they like, and don't bother to learn much after that. At one point, when I was just starting out as a Pagan, I was guilty of that charge myself, maybe because of the sheer load of information I was attempting to absorb in such a short amount of time, maybe it was something else. Who knows? I think because of that, is where the "junk" originates. This is a common problem on this side of the Atlantic, where, they will read a couple of books on it, and refuse to be told otherwise. If you do, you are "discriminating" against them.

I'm with Lorna on this one I do not disagree. I acknowledge that the gods have more than just a few aspects. After all, as long as they have been around, they are sure to have more to them than can be quantified in terms of our current knowledge. I was just speaking on what "sticks out" to me the most. In summation, I feel I sometimes do not articulate my points strongly enough. I am working on that. I always try to be better than I was yesterday.

In summation, I feel I sometimes do not articulate my points strongly enough. I am working on that. I always try to be better than I was yesterday. It's no so much strongly enough, but more clearly enough. So long as you realise that and are realistic with yourself, you will be fine. We have all done it and been there at some stage with these text style forums!

On the subject of clarity, it's that I often speak in broken sentences. I also tend to speak on a subject, veer quickly off course, then at an unexpected point, I'm back to speaking on the subject at hand. I've just always been that way, and so when someone asks me to clarify something, sometimes I don't know what to tell them, because to me, it will have made perfect sense. So, sometimes, understanding what I say takes getting used to. Just be glad I'm not having this discussion in person, I'd have spoke of how much I love venturing into the woods by now! Then, about ten minutes later, I'd comment on the previous discussion! I envy how well folks are able to get their point across, making it simple, but not making the other person feel unintelligent. I've been corrected several times on this forum, but never felt stupid from it. Maybe it comes with age (I'm 22), or maybe linear thought is just a weakness of mine! By the way, thank you for showing me Omnia!
