This is the Hellstone located near the South Dorset Ridgeway area of meso and neolithic activity. The hellstone is the remains of a long-barrow which was used before the round barrows that seem to frequent this area. There are about 7 long barrows nearby as opposed to almost 400 round barrows. Despite its name its not associated with the underworld or the devil, hellstone is a local shortening of the old english heelstone and is used to describe the capstone. It was reconstructed around 1865 by a group of Portland quarrymen. The opening of the long barrow faces towards the Isle of Portland. Attachments:

This is the Kingston Russel stone circle. The stones are located at the very corner of a field near Kingston Russel on the South Dorset Ridgeway. The 16 stones form a circle with a two stone 'entrance' to the south. Attachments:
