The Religion of the Ancient Celts

Has anyone read this text? Is it in any way a reliable source? It was first published by J.A. MacCulloch over 100 years ago, so I'm quite certain that it's immensely outdated, I'm just curious to to whether or not there's any merit to it at all?

Could anyone recommend a more up to date book which deals with Brythonic deities in a rather straight forward fashion as in done in this text?

Pagan Celtic Britain. But, even that is dated. Someone suggested a new book, titled Britain Begins. Just published this year. Haven't been able to get it yet, though. So, I cannot testify it's usefulness. There are some good sites, though.
