The aim is to have twice monthly postings on as wide range of relevant topics as possible, all with the intent of enhancing and informing on the subject of Brythonic Polytheism. Beyond the first three, I have put in some idea of what we might be looking to write about and gather thoughts on closer to the date. The sensible option is to have discussions about these 'seasons' closer to the time and gather thoughts, ideas and practices to give a full view of what brythonic polythesists are doing at these times, how they view them season and its festivals. We all work differently and I think gathering and sharing a wide range of voices will work best. This is a tentative schedule or now - looking at the blank spaces, there arent too many and I think we should have no difficulty in filling them up. I have an idea for a couple of posts already so this first year should be *too* much of a struggle. * * *

Robin Herne has sent me a copy of his poem Gwynn's Guest with some notes on the metre and the story of Gwyn and St Collen. As he wrote it for Gwyl Gaeaf I suggest we schedule it in for around that time. I'd like to follow it with a retelling of Collen's killing of a giantess called Cares y Bwlch but perhaps that can be an informal one in the following weeks.

SO, the 'early November' slot for Robin's piece?
I like the idea of 'informal' posts we can slot in, keep the core twice monthly as focus and anything bonus is , well a bonus.

I have put those in, I will do something for the midsummer festivals...not sure how much practical stuff we do at this time, but worth dicussing.
I don't know if you can view it, but I have done a draft on the blog site of the rituals post - will add some image and proof read it. It is scheduled to go live on the 16th

Sheena McGrath who blogs at 'We Are Star Stuff' has launched a new book on Brigantia and I've asked if she'd like to share a guest post on Brigantia. She's agreed to let us repost the following: earthandstarryheaven.com/2016/03/16/brigantia/ Maybe schedule it in after Maponos or add it in between the existing posts as an extra?

Let's put it in as an extra around midsummer? It means we don't get out of writing original content for it by using other peoples (says the man who just lifted a chunk of someone else's work to fill out his own post )

You seem busy with this blog thing, but why can't it all be done on here?

You seem busy with this blog thing, but why can't it all be done on here? A blog is easier to get traffic to, this forum is dead most of the time with few if any contributors. we figured a blog is a better medium to post information to begin with. we have got quite a lot of hits and followers already. the idea is that after a few months, the blog posts can be turned into content for the main website. i think part of it is the way people use and interact on the internet these days, 15 years ago forums were all the rage, these days blogs are the thing. this being the case, the best way to get information out there and interact with other polytheist and pagans is through blogging.

I've asked Singing Head if we can republish his piece 'The Sleeping Giant of Cribath.' He's agreed. When do you want to schedule that in? I've also but out a call for submissions out on the Polytheist Community Forum polytheistcommunity.boards.net/ but the Brythonic part is even quieter than here.

Thank you for the explanation Lee.
I went on the blog. It let me leave comments but for other things you have to have your own blog account.. Don't think I have enough to say to do that.
The ritual post on the blog was interesting. But I think the ritual was very formal. Is that the sort of thing some of you do? The post about Calan Mai sent me to the shrine where I left a message. I liked that.

@ Gwenno - I'm personally not one for formal ritual, my practice generally being spontaneous and made up on the spot unless I've got a specific prayer, poem or story to read or recite. However, I can perceive why in a group setting having at least an outline helps. I've done structured rituals with my local pagan society and Druid grove. I think structure helps but I find having a script limiting and prefer to go with the flow.
@ Lee - Is it ok to stick The Sleeping Giant of Cribarth in between Bel and Belisama and midsummer?

... I went on the blog. It let me leave comments but for other things you have to have your own blog account.. Don't think I have enough to say to do that. You can sign up for Wordpress account and get a profile page without having a blog. This will enable you to comment on the Brython blog and visit other blogs (many of us have one) without having one yourself. I rarely do anything as formal as that any more. My method is to use words that I have written as a basis for devotions at special places (either 'formal' altars or significant places elsewhere) such as those in the post. The words themselves might have come following meditation, automatic writing, or even trance (though this is rare) and then worked on to shape them for devotional purposes. I don't feel bound by the words and sometimes change them spontaneously, but they do provide a basic structure and focus for devotion. Thank you for your words at the Shrine. Your imagining placing rose petals there was much appreciated. Such gestures can provide significant validation for sharing.

. @ Lee - Is it ok to stick The Sleeping Giant of Cribarth in between Bel and Belisama and midsummer? I was aiming at putting in Maponos around Mid-June. Will we be getting a bit crowded?

Ok... let's take a look by date. Next weekend I'll be putting my Bel and Belisama post up, then there would be Cribarth prior to the summer solstice (20th June this year). At the moment Maponos is set to come after the solstice. I think it would be fine to add Cribarth as a guest post around 11th June? Then maybe Maponos 2nd July followed by the guest post on Brigantia? Let me know what you think. Of course it doesn't matter too much if we have extras - the more the merrier? Saturday 28th May - Bel and Belisama Saturday 11th June - Cribarth Monday 20th June - Midsummer festivals Saturday 2nd July - Maponos
