Hello,
I have recently been having a chat with Heron about the quietness (no, actually deadness) of the Awenydd forum we tried setting up, which has led me to wonder whether this forum is pretty much dead too? At the moment it seems to be used for little but planning and the only people putting any energy into it are Lee, Heron and myself, with intermittent input from 'members' who stay around for a few months then disappear.
In terms of where best to put our energy, the blog, promoted through Facebook, seems be working best (for example Heron's Calan Gaeaf post had 357 hits, over 300 coming from Facebook), backed up by the Dun Brython website as a permanent resource where we can retain material for longevity.
In relation to this, and considering that there is room for discussion on the blog and for outside submissions, I'm wondering whether it's time to declare this forum dead? (We can easily do the planning via e-mail and advertise events, say if we decide to have another meeting or if we hold any rituals, via the blog).
Thoughts anyone?!

Lorna, I agree that the future of this forum as a medium for open discussion is not looking good. But, unlike the Awenydd forum which never really got going, with only us two contributing more than once, this one does have a history and therefore is an archive as well as a current discussion area. Although we could do the planning for the blog and future meetings by e-mail, I think this is a better medium for doing that and would allow currently inactive people to become active again if they wanted to. If we need a less public arena to discuss some of that, we can, I think, create a restricted-access area on here while still leaving the main forum open and accessible.

Belay that last request!LOL. I'm just one person and I don't expect to set this forum alight....but the fact that it still survives and the fact that I deem it good enough to join...must mean something!

Well, although following a suggestion from Lorna to post a query here, I was already registered here. Just thought it worth saying that someone else is at least reading this!

Hello dyvrig,
I know it can be frustrating when only a few people post, but speaking personally, I would much rather belong to a forum with just a few knowledgeable members who know what they are posting about than a forum with a few hundred who only seem intent on telling you what they had for breakfast! Might as well join FB for that sort of stuff, not that I have anything to do with FB I might add.
For me, quality beats quantity any time. As for answering queries....if I think I have an answer I'll always post it.

I think by and large this forum is in hibernation; i hate to say dead as we keep on plodding along with the odd post so not totally dead yet.
As mot of the output as it were is on the blog and website - we focus on that and where needed do some planning and chatter/discussion on here

The info which is on the dun brython site is more or less timeless and unless revised is always there for people to refer to. That's good enough for me. Cunedda

Still pop in from time to time. Would hate to see the place disappear for archive purposes of nothing else.
