Life has pulled me away from here and other places from various directions over this winter. Those of you on Facebook will know that I am (certainly for the last 18 months) now heavily into photography. This photography however, is also heavily spiritual for me. Much as the Awenydd is drawn to the prose, the word-smithing, this photography for me is now about experiencing and relaying my experiences and connections that I make with place and spirit of place. My photographic standard is now at the level where I am winning awards. As the Gallery is archived, I thought this would be the place to post some of my recent work. This photo was taken this last Tuesday (7-2-17) and is in the Galloway Forest in Dumfries, it's the Grey Mares Tail falls. I'm not at all sure the resolution on this forum will accurately reflect what I have shot so I will now post the link to my website which should convey it better than an image inserted on this forum. Everything seemed to work for me on this one, the lighting, the movement and (for me) the "otherworld" look ( and feel )to it. Does anyone else "see" it? www.awenphotos.uk/water#0

And looking around your excellent website I'm equally impressed by other pics - the 'Fairy Pools' in the Isle of Skye section and others featuring water are particularly striking - running water is in my experience the most difficult thing to photograph (though admittedly I'm using a phone!). The 'Awards' pics too are stunning in their intensity. Well deserved for their awards and 'Awen' photos indeed!

The Brocken Spectre! That's spooky. I've read about this but incredible to see your picture of it - and the information that you only ever see a spectre of yourself. You must have been thrilled to get that view of your 'other'!

You must have been thrilled to get that view of your 'other'! It's an amazing thing to see your own and yet not see another even when you stand next to each other. The fog bow is also a beautiful sight

Yes, it's so alive - with all the eeriness and beauty of the otherworld... The Brocken Spectre gave me goosebumps - amazing! And the fog rainbow too. I also really liked the image of the museum on your home page that looks like a witch's kitchen. I'm not certain that the Awenydd path is confined to Awen expressed in words. I also find that same quest for Awen and guidance from the land and its spirits when I take photos, although none of them come close to the quality of yours.
