At our meeting on Saturday 22nd April we celebrated completing the Brython calendar and discussed what to schedule over the next year. We have decided to base the schedule around adding devotional material for the existing Brython festivals and on building up a body of essays on theory and practice. We'd ideally like to publish an essay every month. There will also be additional slots open for submissions that lie outside these parameters. We have issued a call for submissions and encourage Brython members and new people to get involved dunbrython.wordpress.com/2017/05/02/a-call-for-submissions/This is the schedule. Does anyone have anything to put forward for the May essay on Sat 20th? If not I'll post my piece covering giants in Brythonic tradition.

Likewise I can have the third Lord of Waters article ready for early June (I will living on the boat for ten days taking it across the Fens and up some rivers, so suspect it will be influenced by that somewhat)

Ok... giants are up. @lee - Yes Nodens can fill the June essay slot. As I mention Indo-Europeans myths featuring the dismemberment of a giant in my giants piece I was thinking next week might be a good time to re-publish your creation myth about the dismemberment of Dyeus from the Brython site on the blog? Is that ok? If so do you have time to do it or would you like me to do it? I'll pencil it in anyhow. Good luck with moving onto your boat The week after I could put up a devotion to Belisama? Heron - hope you have/are having a good holiday! It's possible I'll attempt something on journeywork. I think I'll pose some questions about how others go about journeywork in the Brythonic tradition before I do though to get some ideas together.

I could do something on Maponos for the empty June 17 slot.
What about the Solstice? I previously did something linking Maponos with the Solstice. But does anyone want to do a specific Summer Solstice post?

@ Heron - Something on Maponos sounds suitable either for June 17th or the Summer Solstice. I don't have anything for the Summer Solstice. It's one I acknowledge but don't really celebrate being more of a winter person. As Maponos was speaking to you at this time last year and is speaking to you at this time this year too maybe that's a sign of his presence at Midsummer?
Lee, have you had any more submissions? Did you manage to get in touch with The Wild Hunt (the website!)?

Nothing else received annoyingly. A piece on the Wild hunt news roundup went up a couple of weeks ago.

I'm starting to write a bit more on my personal blog again and intending to do some more about my devotional practices, I've recently written about how the patterns have graduallly and planning to do something about what I actually do. Would this be of interest for the Brython Blog?

Yes I do feel his presence around Midsummer quite strongly. So I'll post on the 'Maponos Mythos' and set it in a Midsummer context.

@ Lee, that is disappointing, particularly after a shout out from The Wild Hunt. @ Potia, it's good to see you're blogging again. I enjoyed your post about your 'Patterns of Devotion'. I like the notion of devotion being composed of shifting patterns rather than set structures a lot Yes please do write something for Brython and let us know which spot would suit you best. @ Heron - 'Maponos Mythos' in a midsummer setting sounds great for midsummer - added to the schedule By the way, I noticed our section on Faery on the Brython website is empty and was wondering whether you have anything suitable from The Fern Law of Faerie that you'd be willing to add.

Yes I could certainly do that, probably by adapting something from the 'The Fern Law ...' or combining a few things and re-writing. I'll give it some thought after the Maponos post is done.

I've been in conversation with Jonathon Woolley who wrote this year's Mount Haemus lecture for OBOD - www.druidry.org/events-projects/mount-haemus-award/eighteenth-mount-haemus-lecture He venerates Sulis amongst other Brythonic deities and is currently researching Romano-British archaeology. I've asked him if he'll write something for Brython based around archaeology and he's agreed to do something around September so I'm penciling him in. I'm going to attempt to tackle 'Devotional Poetry' for the July essay. If anyone else has something they'd like to add to the schedule please let me know

My devotional poetry piece is up. Has anybody got any ideas for Rosmerta and Lugus or the August essay?
