My devotional poetry piece is up. I should be able to put a piece together about Lleu as Lugus. Not sure at the moment if I can include Rosmerta, though I could look at doing a separate post for her later in August, perhaps more of a devotional piece than an essay.

@ Heron - 'I should be able to put a piece together about Lleu as Lugus. Not sure at the moment if I can include Rosmerta, though I could look at doing a separate post for her later in August, perhaps more of a devotional piece than an essay.' Great I'll put you down to cover Lugus/Lleu for August 1st and pencil a devotion to Rosmerta in later in August.

As there is no August essay forthcoming, and I am due to do a devotional piece for Rosmerta to follow this, I'll add some commentary and interpretation to the devotional words to cover both.

Thanks, Heron. I've updated the schedule in accord with this. I'll double check with Jonathon at the beginning of Sept that he is still up for doing the September essay. I'm happy to do something on Gwyn's Feast, possibly some additional notes on how celebrating his feast may be seen as a way of undoing his demonisation and reclaiming our relationship with him and the spirits of Annwfn.
Has anyone else got any ideas for an October essay or Nos Galan Gaeaf?

I've contacted Jonathon and heard nothing back, but have asked Sheena McGrath if we can repost her blog post Taranis: Celtic Thunder earthandstarryheaven.com/2017/08/30/taranis/ so will schedule that for Sept 16th instead.

Hiya - sorry I haven't been about much. Kinda snowed under with various things for a while. Not about to get easier as I am off to Colombia in 2 weeks for work (short notice too) then moving house once I get back.

Jonathon has been in touch and we've now agreed he will post in October. I've still got Faery on my agenda to do. I'll focus on that to fill an empty slot soon.

Jonathon has been in touch and we've now agreed he will post in October. I've still got Faery on my agenda to do. I'll focus on that to fill an empty slot soon. Faery is more or less done (about 2000 words) so it could fill the next empty essay slot, which I see is November. We have nothing inbetween that and the October slot at the moment, and nothing for Calan Gaeaf. Perhaps we should concentrate on monthly essays and just fill the gaps if we can, but ideally we should have something for the festivals. I did something on folk customs for Calan Gaeaf last year so maybe a devotional piece is needed this year? Anyone?

Thanks Heron I'll put your essay on Faery into the November slot.
Unless someone offers to provide a new piece I will pencil in a devotion from the site - I think your 'Hymn to Rigatona at Calan Gaeaf' will work well for Calan Gaeaf - for now.
I was wondering whether for Eponalia we could republish one or more of the pieces from 'The Grey Mare on the Hill' both to honour the Mare Goddess and to give the book a bit more publicity.
Jonathon has said he will also provide a piece on Sulis.

ooh..good idea to use stuff from the book.
I might see about some artwork I am working on - linocut printing - for the period over christmas and new year for Gwyn. I might have a stab at something o the 12 days of christmas, i have the seed of an idea for a book covering the 12 days, the Hunt etc and this might be the starting point for a publishing next winter.

Hmm, wondering if something on ways of including younger family members in practices might be an interesting addition for the festive season?

OK I'll post on Faery. One issue with the Calan Gaeaf post is that I wrote the 'Hymn to Rigantona' to conform with my practice of observing Calan Gaeaf a bit later than the traditional date, specifically at the Dark of the Moon, and the wording reflects this. As the Moon will be waxing to full at Calan Gaeaf this year the wording as it stands would not be appropriate, so I'll either have to modify it for the purpose of the post or perhaps write something else. Yes that's a good idea to draw on the anthology for future essays. And Jonathan too - his last piece was excellent.

Ooh a linocut sounds really nice I'll pencil this in for the winter solstice. @ Potia - 'wondering if something on ways of including younger family members in practices might be an interesting addition for the festive season?' Great idea I'll pencil this in for the December essay on the 9th. Also we're planning to republish something from The Grey Mare on the Hill on Eponalia. I think 'Prayer to Epona-Rigantona' would be perfect. May we republish it on the blog? (By the way I used the first verse in a devotional poetry workshop a few months back with a person reading each line and everybody else joining in with 'I praise you' and it worked wonderfully). @ Heron - 'One issue with the Calan Gaeaf post is that I wrote the 'Hymn to Rigantona' to conform with my practice of observing Calan Gaeaf a bit later than the traditional date, specifically at the Dark of the Moon, and the wording reflects this. Ah maybe this would be best posted on the dark moon on Nov 18th if you wanted to repost it? This means we could still do with something for Calan Gaeaf... any other ideas folk?

Happy for Prayer to Epon a Rigantona to be used again although I use slightly different wording for the last verse now so if you like I could send my currently used version for Eponalia?
I'll put something together about family things, I don't think I've written anything in an article about my family winter solstice walks for example.

@ Potia - yes please do send over your new version.
I could put something on 'Gwyn's Hunt' together for Nos Galan Gaeaf if nobody has any better ideas.
