I'm Steph ( or WynnAlice to use my storytelling name) I'm in Devon but am from Brigantia - SE - little town called Ramsbottom in Lancs. My maternal line is Welsh - from Ruabon, NE Wales & also N. Ireland. I am doing my thesis on Blodeuwedd - the enchantress from the the 4th branch of the Mabinogi. Will post a link to my research when its ready. For me she is a remnant of an old goddess - of Beltaine ( as flower maiden ) and Sawain ( as owl). I am working on a new/old telling of her tale which I will take out on tour next year. Happy to do tellings in houses, groves and the like, if you want to hear it and offer feedback. My big puzzle currently is identifying her lover Groebr the Radiant- I am wondering if he might be an aspect of Gwen ap Nudd? Would love any thoughts on this.

Hey Steph welcome to Caer Feddwyd! Your thesis sounds very interesting, please tell us where your research takes you. I don't know much about Gronw Pebr outside of the Mabinogion story but I have some knowledge of Gwyn ap Nudd based on an excellent book by Danu Forest. Maybe I could help . By the way big respect for the storytelling I've been on a course and have performed once or twice but I am still lacking confidence with it .

Thanks Daidafod Baedd, sorry not to reply before - I got no notification that I had a reply. What is the name of the book by Danu Forest? Storytelling is simply being in the moment and letting the tale flow and open out where it needs to for the audience on any particular day; its never the same twice!

Hey Steph great to hear from you again . The book is called Gwyn ap Nudd: Wild God of Faerie, Guardian of Annwfn by Pagan Portals. On storytelling definitely I always thought of the improvisational quality of storytelling like Jazz.
