Hi Blackbird et al, Hope you don't mind me dropping in? How could I resist a Brythonic tradition site being a member of Y Caer and all? To those that do not know me I am Craig. I am a druid from Mid-Wales who is active in the Druid Network, British Druid Order and the Mistletoe Foundation. Well I would be active if I wasn't so lazy . For those who like a picture I am of middling years, tall enough to see well in crowds, and fat enough to leave a wake in a pool. I am married and kidded (x3), and have more hair on my chin than on my pate. By nature and practice I am a feral druid who is proud to be NDQ (not damn qualified). I have opinions on most things, but answers for few. I work mostly with Bridey and with the spirits of the Mawddach and the Severn. I am also a purveyor of dodgy doggerel, which I shall inflict upon you as it is only fair to let everyone suffer equally. I shall look forward to making your acquaintances over the coming seasons. Bright blessings, Craig /|\

Hi Craig
Think we've conversed briefly on the Druid network forums, definately recognise the term feral druid from there.
Well come to Caer Feddwyd

Croeso ;D Great to have you here, your wise words are always very welcome, as is the so-called doggerel (it's fine bardic stuff!)

I'm not sure that I am still welcome here. I'd be very pleased to welcome you back. I lost your number a while back or you'd have been pestered by me on a matter we discussed once...

OK then, if you're sure Not every one can recover from flouncing out like I did. It wasn't until I met up with BB the other evening that I screwed my courage up to the sticking point to put my head in again. Give me a while to read through some of what you have all been up to, then perhaps you might find an older, but not necessarily wiser man contributing once more. Let me just say that Loki has led me a merry dance this last year or two...

Not every one can recover from flouncing out like I did. Call that a flounce? Pathetic I never quite understood your decision since most of your points were issues that had lead me here, but whether I understood it or not is irrelevant, whether you understood is all that counts. I've always valued your opinion, your voice and your challenges (plus the positive manner in which they would be couched).... so am just glad to see you back

My decision was a deeply personal one - call it a crisis of foundation, not faith.
My faith never wavered as it was based upon experience, but I did question the foundations of many the assumptions I had made and the decisions that flowed from those assumptions.
Doubt is good as it drives us to discover the truth, and my doubts led me into many dark places. Not least were my doubts upon the meaning and relevance of a modern 'druidic' belief based upon unreliable scraps of information.
It has taken me two years of meditation and reflection to find my path again. There has been considerable pain along that route and I feel not unlike Bunyan's Pilgrim.
So here I am, no longer describing myself as 'druid', or even 'feral'. To quote the American philosopher Popeye the Sailor Man - "I yam what I yam".
