The Thunderer having a festival in July is a modern idea, there's nothing to tell us if or when such a festival happened. However, given that He is one of my major Patrons, doing something to honour Him would be fantastic. I agree with Jez that celebrating Him during the height of the summer storms makes sense - I usually pour a glass for Him during those times. I'm sure it had a set date in Romano- Gaul, I can't find it so maybe your right.

We need to have the set date as these are often based in fixed circumstances. Realistically there will need to be nearby dates for the gathering of the Aelwyd. I agree, such is modern life!

i would set a fixed date for those for whcih it is appropriate - Eponalia, Nos Hynafiad, and 'indicators' for those where it is appropriate - may blossom out etc.
in either case, the aelwyd is formed as close as is possoible. we live in the 21st century after all.

none of the threads on here are finished, just waiting until we have more information or have thought about it for a bit.

If you look at the current Pagan calendar, the 'Fire ' festivals occur roughly at the beginning of each season with the Solar festivals roughly mid-season, resulting in a festival every six to seven weeks.
Personally, I don't have a problem with the timing of them as they are, although in all probability in ancient times, the Fire Festivals would have been timed by animal, weather and plant significators, rather than a calendar date.
Solstices and Equinoxes are more predicable.
