I was listening to Brian Bates on Episode 34 of the Druidcast, aired on 20 January 2010, wherein he mentions working with New Line Cinema, who are attempting to bring " The Way of Wyrd" to the cinema.

Ray passe don this good news to the PF in December and at that stage he was the one and only Pagan celebrant able to perform legal handfastings in Eire. He is hoping to get a few more individuals authorised though. It's also worth noting that in Eire legal celebrants are not permitted to charge anything for their services.

Personally I am against making Handfastings official. I have been legally married twice, the ending of both were not pleasant. I have been Handfasted twice to the same person but at anytime we are free to walk away with no solicitors or courts involved.

"This theory reverses a standard chronology of human origins" "is rewriting the story of human evolution." gah! no no no no... this is nothing to do with human evolution or human origins... Homo sapiens sapiens was fully 'formed' by this point. this is monumental in terms of human culture and civilisation but nothing to do with human evolution! Megli... i understand you fully now

of course they mean in terms of the progression from hunter-gatherers to agriculture/settled. But it's a newspaper story, you expect accuracy? lol

I think you are just going to have to accept that newspapers will always say "human evolution" rather than "human social development" under the mistaken belief it somehow gives their story more gravitas... or you'll die young of a nasty heart attack ;D

Interesting and seemed a very reasonable piece of reporting to me.
