Hi everyone.
I'm new to this site.I am a former OBODie who has moved on from their rather shallow and historically ill informed approach to a more reconstructionist perspective.I live in Scunthorpe in an area the Corieltauvi lived in and I'm particularly interested in discovering more about the old sacred sites and deities of that tribe ( so far I have found Arnemetia, Rigonemetis and Braciaca).
I stumbled across this site a few days ago thanks to Google and am finding it fascinating so far.
Steve.

Hello Radagast and welcome to Brython I must admit I haven't ever been to Scunthorpe or even to Lincolnshire and don't know much about the Corieltauvi (I'm in Lancashire - Setantii land). Please feel free to share your research and experiences with your local sacred sites and deities. I have never heard of Arnemetia, Rigonemetis or Braciaca and would love to hear more about them.

Ooh, the name Arnemetia rings a bell. Is She the deity associated with Buxton water? I think I saw something about Her on BBC's 'Pagans and Pilgrims' episode about water. I'm based in Buckinghamshire, which was the land of the Catuvellauni. I'm quite new to Brythonic paganism so I'm excited to hear what you have discovered.

Hello Radagast - Though I live in Wales, I'm quite familiar with the country north of Lincoln as I used to stay there often. Apparently there were many sacred wells in the post Roman Brythonic kingdoms of Deira, Elmet and Lindsey dedicated to the goddess Alauna, later re-dedicated to St Helen, but with some continuities of observance suggesting - in the words of one observer - a "peaceful accommodation" between paganism and Christianity. Do you know of any such wells?
