just a thought.. seeing as this is not something the government are involved in. perhaps ssigning a petition to no 10 is pointless. far better i think ot leave comments on the landmark Wales website. www.landmarkwales.org/english/content.php?nID=53this is the Rhiannon proposal, there is a box to submit comments. i think *this* would a far better way of voicing our enthusiasm for this entrant.

yeah, of course, if people feel strongly they should comment in the appropriate place on the LM website. Problem is, I read in the local paper than LM have already made their choice for Merthyr. And it wasn't Rhiannon. I have issue with this : LM are a tiny panel of judges, who don't seem to take that much notice of public opinion (as can be seen by the protest against the Flintshire "Postcard" news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/6283782.stm)Ultimately, the project doesn't go ahead without Lottery Funding. And since these applications are granted by organisations like the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council for Wales etc, I thought it appropriate to make take up the issue at a Government level. Better if it had been the National Assembly, I suppose, but its more of a publicity thing than anything. Although I believe you need 200+ signatures before it gets a government response. Ah well.. interestingly, it's been stuck at 3 signatures for a couple of days, despite people actually signing it (I've seen them). I think the system is in meltdown generally, confirmation emails aren't getting out. Whether it works or not : in that newspiece above, on the Flintshire Postcard, Landmark Wales are quoted as saying they're interested in how many people sign that petition. So I think maybe they take more notice of public outcry than they did previously. In fairness, the whole project should have been put to a public vote, instead of the masonic-handshake judging that seems to e doing on.
