Hi again, thanks for the warm welcome, my computer just crashed and I've had a devil of a job getting back on line. I think this is a really excellent forum and yes, so much of what was discussed at FF seems already to be the current mindset here, you really are at the cutting edge my friends.
I think acceptance is the first step, once this has sunk in, realizing that we are not Druids becomes very liberating. It becomes a solid foundation based on honesty.
I more than happy for the AC statement to be put on as many sites as possible which certainly includes this one, (could you do this for me Craig, LR, as I am the worlds greatest Luddite).
The title Druid has actually become a burden rather than a blessing. I felt very down after FF, I felt I had lost my identity. But now I actually feel reborn, as corny as that may sound. So the FF council really did come up with the goods.
The way forward now I feel is very exciting, unclear yes, but now this stance has been made public, its going to be very difficult for people to peddle their bullshit. It has taken the power away from the big guns completely, they can no longer use the term Druid for their own ends and to suggest that they are the true Druids who should be followed, or that their words carry extra weight with the god given right to be respected.
Craig said, free at last, on the AC forum and thats exactly how it feels to me too.

And here is Stefan's statement:
Dear All It turned out to be a quite remarkable night in the main round house at Flag Fen for the council on Saturday the 11th of October. The issues were debated with maturity, with integrity and may I add, with a level head by all, both feet set firmly on the ground. Many of the issues debated were not resolved, but they were always done so with respect and did not personally attack any individuals within the modern Druid tradition today. Many felt the ancestors were with us through that long night and a radical conclusion was eventually formed. THERE ARE NO DRUIDS WITHIN THE MODERN PAGAN DRUIDIC MOVEMENT! The Albion Conclave wishes to officially confirm that it does not recognize anyone within the modern pagan Druidic tradition the status of Druid. We may recognize pagan priests/priestesses, teachers of Druidry and Bards, but the desire to become a Druid is a romantic fiction. The Albion Conclave course has always stated quite clearly that on completing it you have not become Druid, nor for that matter a Bard or an Ovate. This original view has now reached its logical conclusion. Some of our ancestors within the various native British tradition's were Druids, today this is unachievable, to think otherwise is a romantic fantasy no matter how you try to justify your position. Perhaps now we can begin to truly honor our ancestors, the only real Druids to have ever existed. Finally the council also concluded that the name Druid has been utterly profaned, corrupted and bastardized. It has been used, abused, insulted and distorted out of all recognition and therefore become totally unusable as a title for any individual following the Druidic tradition today. If people are able to accept this, then a bright new future awaits us all, based on honesty and integrity, forming a solid foundation in order to re-evaluate our tradition. If not, then many will continue to abuse the name and lead many others astray in the process. The above are my words are mine and I take full responsibility for them. The words are Stefan's but the sentiment is shared.
I'll post that to the Brythonic Facebook group if that's ok? I would have said it, but it's better coming from someone who is known and respected in those circles.
