Do badgers eat rabbits?! I thought they preferred slugs Welcome to the group, Tenar - no worries about being a newbie, we're all learning here. One of the reasons that I set up the site was to improve my own knowledge. What are you reading?

Hello Blackbird, nice site! I'm such a townie, I actually have no idea what badgers eat I've just started reading "Ancient Britain" by James Dyer, which so far I like, because it starts right at the very beginning when the first humans got here (I find the stone age fascinating) I just finished 'Iron age Britain' by Barry Cunliffe. It was great for me as it was more writtan for people who aren't history buffs; he assumes you have no prior knowledge and explains things in very simple words

Oh Badgers will eat most things, including the occaisional bunny. We're predators and scavengers. Rabbits actually taste quite nice, a bit nutty.

I like rabbit too - and wearing rabbit skins... Many people say that rabbit tastes like chicken, which is bizarre - all I can say is that they must have eaten some funny chickens It has got quite a nutty flavour, that's a good way of describing it ;D I've not come across the Dyer book, but I like the Cuncliffe. It's definitely worth looking out anything by him, particularly The Atlantic Celts.

The Dyer book seems good so far. I havn't read The Atlantic Celts, but I'm working my way through the 'celtic' shelf at the libary still I remember eating rabbit before I went veggie, I thought it was great ;D much nicer than chicken. Couldn't possibly do it now though, my pet one would give me guilty looks
