Brochfael refuses to untie me until I post something and they're chafing a bit Anyway, I appear to have been kidnapped over here but given my deep seated fear of topics revolving around book learning I may sit quietly in my ropes pouting for a while ... *waves to LR, Blackbird, Branynos & Dane in the hope someone can feed me druid fluid while I brew my own cauldron of mischief quietly in a dark corner over ... -----> there*

Welcome I'm drinking Laphroaig, if you want a virtual glass... Now, there's an offer not to be refused! I'll try to refrain from singing this time though

Welcome Firinne. Laphroaig is one of my favourite tipples. I also partake of Dalwhinnie, Talisker, Jura and Islay, all too regularly Blessings, Craig /|\

I'd partake far more regularly if half the bottle didn't end up being used for offerings.... after the gods have had their share, there never seems to be enough left for me Got a bottle of Scapa at the moment, and I'll admit to being horribly selfish with it...

(I once tried Welsh whisky, but think it would be better for cleaning toilets! ;D ) Yes there is one called 'Calon Lan' that is just cheap scotch with herbs in it. But recently Penderyn have brought out a single malt called 'Aur Cymru' which is actually produced in Wales and isn't bad. According to the blurb on the packaging it "has an exceptionally balanced taste with an aroma of cream toffee and fleetingly of fresh new leather. Then, as the initial sensations fade, the finishing notes of tropical fruits, raisins and vanilla emerge strongly and are long lasting." Or, alternatively, as I said, it's not bad! Worth a taste anyway. Iechyd da uyyyyy;p [this line a contribution from my cat who just walked across the keyboard attempting to have a sniff of the whisky - `I think he approves]

*pokes head around the door* Shame on me, I joined up almost a year ago and then completely forgot about the place. Branynos, you're safe. I was stalking Brochfael at his request. It's good to see you here though, I've missed your posts over the past couple of years not being on the same forums. I'm amazed by how many familiar names and people whose posts I've always loved reading are on here. This place is like a sanctuary for non-fluffy people who aren't afraid of thinking. This is a very good thing. Not least because being here will make me think, and challenge me to learn more. Something I've been neglecting of late. Anyway, I'm very glad I found the place again. I'll try not to resurrect too many old threads in my excitement at returning to find some very interesting topics

Hi Firinne, I'm here too. I'd say your assessment of this place is spot on.

Hi Firine,
Very belated Welcome!
Don't worry about resurrecting old threads, sometimes it is useful to refresh the memories...
Cheers, Midori

The threads may be old as far in the context of the forum, but the subject is considerably older.
Necro away!
