I'm only one quarter of the way through it; I was distracted by book on the druids. It seemed okay, not heavy going, easily digestible.

I've raved about this before. A better read that every "druid" book in the bookshop. If anyone in academia is in the same place as us, it's Francis.
(Not so sure about the sequel, Britain AD, in which he makes assumptions that are outside his bailiwick, and had me snapping "yeah but" to the book in a slightly deranged fashion)

I'm currently reading it. Very good, sometimes he has a tendency to extrapolate but as Tegernacus said it's far better than all that neo-pagan 'literature' out there.
