It was decided at the Calan Mai meeting that a twice yearly meet up to mark the the turning from dark to light and vice-versa would be an appropriate thing for us to engage with. Francis has been kind enough to be host for the last two, therefore it is now time for another host to step forward.
Therefore, it is now my turn to host a meet. For people who don't know the location, if you look towards Mansfield in Notts, you won't be too far out. There is a campsite that will be used (it recently won award in 2009) that appears to be charging about £14.50 per night, which can be booked on line or by phone prior to coming. If you are intending to attend, please indicate and I'll pm the details nearer the time. (And yes ladies, full facilities!!! ;D)
The main day on Saturday would be a busy one, (no surprise there then!) with visits to three locations. The first is one that I won't divulge at this minute (aren't I a tease?), the second is here with the group deciding upon the specifics nearer the time...

and finally a visit here....

before returning back to base. There will also be some local walks (not in the same league as those Welsh mountains) but interesting because of the environment being crafted by recent human activity which leads to an altogether different atmosphere.
So, I extend an invite to interested parties to register their interest here, (hopefully allowing plenty of time to arrange time off etc) with the dates being the weekend of the 9th and 10th of October. I am unable to make it later because of work commitments.
