Looks like they have made a sequel to the Merlin mini-series that was shown a few years back: hallmarkent.com/property.php?propertyId=Merlin2SorcerersWhether classy or cheesy remains to be seen... I did nothing but nitpick all the way through the first one, though I enjoyed it more on second viewing. Sam Neill is always a redeeming feature...

Sam Neill was the best thing in that - worth watching more than once just for him - however the programme was amusing in ways that it never meant to be.
Has Merlin's Apprentice been shown yet - I haven't noticed it

If it has been shown already, they kept it quiet

there isn't an airing date on the site, and it does say to be released in2006, so it's probably on it's way.

Well, for me personally, *anything* with Miranda Richardson in it is worth watching ....
Actually, I really enjoyed the first one, looking forward to it myself.

Er, I've just watched the trailer, I've changed my mind.
At least the first one had a vaguely Dark Age feel to it. This one's taken on the pseudo-medieval thing.

Agreed, Miranda Richardson is great... a fine actress and she's _so_ hysterically funny. I loved her in Blackadder, and she's been good in everything I've ever seen her in. Is she in the sequel, I wonder?

This is on right now, Channel Four. I've missed the first hour, thankfully...

I think it suffered from the usual sequel malady, not enough material left to work with in order to do a decent job.
I found it bitty, confusing and too loooong (yawn).
