Another new Welsh member signing in and saying Hello What can I say about myself? Well I'm a former glamour model - though I'm just rehabilitated and looking for a more worthwhile career! I've moved back from London to Wales a few weeks ago and am hoping to find a form of paganism a little more real than the hippy love and 'shop bought' paganism of London. I've had a quick look at the members list and only recognise a couple of names (probably a good thing- my view is changing rapidly and most of what I've been before makes me cringe ;D) I've read some of Craig's amazing poetrey before and have have camped in Stephen/Francises(which do you prefer to be called?) wood earlier this autumn on a TDN wildwood weekend. (biggest shock of my life when he told me us to leave all our food in the car, but after four days of forest food squirrel , rabbit, wood pigon, chestnuts, mushrooms, hazlenuts, herbs I think me and my girlfriends must have gained about 4lbs, but did truly undrstand what it meant to 'relate' to even be part of somewhere. A real shock to all my veggy or vegan friends in London who I think would linch him if I told them where he llived! ;D I won't it was an amazing and eye opening time for me. Looking forward to meeting you all and learning more how to take my Brythonic spirituality forwards living in and with this land but ritually and maybe ceremonially as well. Thankyou for the oppertunity. Coedwen

Hi Coedwen And welcome the Maes. So you've read some of my dodgy doggerel huh? I know it isn't amazing, I've read real poet's work. One day I might aspire to the heights of McGonagle, but I'm still just a mere aspirant. Always interested to hear about queasy veggies ;D. I've been meat-free for over 25 years, but have no problem with killing to eat. I think you find that there is a huge amount of material here to browse through. Don't be backwards about coming forwards, and don't be shy to ask about anything you want to know. You are among friends here. Bright blessings,

Croeso Can't beat wild food - that creepy McKeith woman is right in that you are what you eat... to literally ingest the things that live on the land around you is to truly start to join back in with the living community of animals and plants... I'll be off out for me nettles soon ;D

have camped in Stephen/Francises(which do you prefer to be called?) wood earlier this autumn on a TDN wildwood weekend. (biggest shock of my life when he told me us to leave all our food in the car, but after four days of forest food squirrel , rabbit, wood pigon, chestnuts, mushrooms, hazlenuts, herbs I think me and my girlfriends must have gained about 4lbs, Hi Coedwen Nice to see you here. I'm sure this is the place you're looking for - lots of people here with much, much better answers to the questions you asked me than I had. For what it's worth my name is Stephen - Francis was my catholic confirmation name- nearest I could find to what it all seemed to me to be about within that faith at a young age. I use Francis on boards like this because it's the name I first used on another list (Awen) years ago - I still use it so people know it's me! I just wanted to add that it wasn't an official TDN event, that's just where you got my name and number. I think TDN events are vegetarian on the whole? I thought I'd also add that meat was probably less than half of what we ate when you camped! You make it sound like a big meat feast. For what it's worthI don't eat meat that's been killed in an abbatoir- only animmals that I or people I know have killed. Death is a part of life and isn't the worst thing that can happen to anyone or animmal. No wild animmals die of old age - and all those that died to become part of us that week were killed humanely and with respect. but did truly undrstand what it meant to 'relate' to even be part of somewhere. That's what it was all about - Blackbird pretty much summed my philosphy on this up. Getting back into the cycle of life around us. This doesn't have to include wild meat- but harvest from the hedgerow and make the connection tangible between ourselves and the land beneath our feet. Gets off soap box! BB Stephen
