My daughter (aged 15) enjoys the current Merlin series, and has just started asking questions about the original mythos (she gets quite excited when I explain the extreme difference between the series and the old stories)... now, I remember my introduction the the Arthurian cycle as a child being Roger Lancelyn Green's "King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table" which, IIRC, was a pretty fair compilation of the various tales whilst being accessible to a child... would anyone recommend anything similar suitable for a 15 yr old who loves reading?

I had RLG too, and as it's still in print, why not give her that?!

Would it be embarrassing to admit that I also love the Merlin series? Gives one a chance to educate t'other half a little about the old country.

I don't really like the Merlin series, BUT: it was used as a topic in my daughters school, to trigger off discussions/study into the Mabinogion, Arthur legends etc, so in that respect it is wonderful.
