Hey does anyone know at what point people decided that Gwyn ap Nudd possessed a pair of stag antlers? All the folkloric sources I've read depict him as an enormous huntsman possibly with a blackened face. Is there some reason for this I don't know about or are they simply borrowed from Herne because they both lead the Wild Hunt?

i have never come across the antlered version outside of 'pagan' sources, i reckon it is likely as you say; a borrowing.

Thanks Lee. I just wondered when the rumour started, I Googled it and only found debates about what sort of 'horns' he has, whether antlers or those of other various farm animals.
