I'm new to Celtic Reconstructionism, most especially with Brythonic, but I've had some time to research ritual construction and managed to come up with a simple construction that I feel is workable.
I would like to share it with all of you, and get some input as to ways I could improve it. Let me know what you think:
Brythonic Ritual Construction
Prepare ritual components
I. Consecration
Light a candle and say:
I light this flame in honor of
The gods of sea land and sky
The ancestors, both living and not
And the spirits of the land
Blessings to all of you
II. Purification
Sprinkle water around the altar space and say:
May the Sea direct
Light the incense on the altar and say:
May the Land provide
Raise your hands towards the sky and say:
May the Sky govern
III. Declaration
Close your eyes and say:
I come to honor you, O Gods
With sacrifice and libations
Bless me with your presence
IV. Offering
Open your eyes and procure the offering
Present the offering in the bowl say:
I give this offering in honor of
The gods of sea land and sky
The god/goddess _________
The ancestors, both living and not
And the spirits of the land
Blessings to all of you
V. Invitation
Close your eyes and say:
Hear my prayers
And come hither
Blessed Immortal
_________
VI. Prayer
Open your eyes and say:
To Thee I stay true
If it is Thy will
Give heed to my request
_________
VII. Divination
Use the appropriate divination tool to ask a question
VIII. The Libations
Pour the sacred ale in a cup.
Hold it up in the air and say:
I drink to Thee
_________
I give this libation in honor of
The gods of sea land and sky
The god/goddess _________
The ancestors, both living and not
And the spirits of the land
Blessings to all of you
Pour the rest into the offering bowl
IX. Closing
Go in peace
Immortal Ones
Departed ancestors
And spirits of the land
With righteous judgement
And great benevolence
May you be with me always
Extinguish the flame
