Hello! This is a link to my outline of a new area of research for me and project of the (in Heron's words) 'imaginative recall' of Gwyn ap Nudd's neglected connections with 'The Old North.' I also mention P.K. Page's translation of religion as 're-legere' - to 'read again'. Thus re-reading and re-imagining become a religious duty to one's land, gods and ancestors. lornasmithers.wordpress.com/2015/02/16/gwyn-ap-nudd-and-the-old-north/

This is a follow-up post to my piece on the site of the Battle of Arfderydd, tracing Gwyn ap Nudd's lost connections with the north. I guessed there may be a link between the river Nith and Nudd / Nodens through the likeness in sound but had not strong expectations. When I got to the estuary I was blown away by the beauty of the landscape, barnacle geese flying toward Solway Firth and a sense of the presence of Nudd and his son. This is a write-up of my experiences and further musings on onomatopoeic links between Nudd, be-neath / under-neath and netherworlds... and there are not only barnacle geese but whooper swans too lornasmithers.wordpress.com/2015/03/29/niths-estuary/
