Tomorrow morning, I'm going away for a fortnight - off down to the camp in the New Forest, and then up to Hertfordshire where I'm teaching for two weeks. I'm camping for the whole time, and am armed with a load of articles to write, a big book of folksongs and my battered copy of the Mabinogion. Not to mention a 29 string harp... all the essentials for a fortnight's entertainment I hope you all enjoy yourselves here while I'm gone ;D

Came back last night, and am enjoying the luxury of a solid roof, a good mattress and a fire ;D
Looking forward to catching up with you all.

Hope your workshop tour was good, sorry I couldn't be around much at Beltane Camp, but my lad said he listened to you on the harp. His hand is improving rapidly, the burns are nearly healed, but he must keep stretching the scar tissue.

Glad that he's OK. Not the kind of thing that makes for a relaxing, fun time for either of you. The workshop (I did a kind of intro to sword fighting ) went really well. There were more people wanting to take part than I had space for, so I might run something similar at the Lughnasadh camp. (If it's that hot again, we'll do it earlier in the day - midday was a mistake - true what they say about mad dogs and the English, lol!)

That'll be great if you get to do your sword workshop again, I was madder than a wet hen to miss it!
As you said, it wasn't a restful camp for me, I'm not sure my feet touched!

Count me in for a sword tutorial next time we're at the same camp.
My Brythonic fighting sword is a bit wee (blade length probably just under two feet) but I've got a Romano-British Spatha that's a bit bigger. Problem is you need to have arms like a body builder to wield it with total control.
I'll bring both and a sheild to any camps I'm at this year.
