Previously I had posted about my husband's frustration in his job search in the UK. He is there now, interviewing for 2 different positions in vastly different geographic locations: Carlisle and Barstaple.
He has had the Carlisle interview and has been offered the position! The school head knows of his other interview, and has been gracious enough to keep the offer on the table while Yowann completes the other interview process.
We probably won't know until Friday or so if he has been selected for the Barnstaple job (our first choice); however, if he is not, we are more than happy to go to Cumbria.
I appreciate all your advice and words of encouragement. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. We well probably be over there by sometime in August.
Again, thanks so much for your support!
Pob Bendith,
Siaron

That is wonderful news ;D
Is that the Barstaple near Bristol?
If you happen to be over here by July, several of us will be at the Bardic camp in the Forest of Dean...

Well, as it turns out, the Barnstaple . He has decided to accept the offer in Cumbria. But, we are very excited, nontheless. Once we get settled, I plan on doing some 'exploring', and may be in your neighborhood. Would love to stop in and say hello in person. Anyway, that's for the future. For now, we are going to go crazy for the next couple of months getting ready. Thanks again for your encouragement!

I think you'll love Carlisle There is a wealth of amazing stuff up there, lots going on. I'd be over to Maryport to see the Epona finds, down to Castlerigg... there's also a somewhat bizarre shopping centre and information point called the Rheged Centre, down near Penrith which is worth a visit. It would be wonderful to meet - I find that I'm often up North these days I second the hope that your move is uneventful ;D

I was just reading about the floods on the BBC/Cumbria web page....Whoa! I think that will help dictate where we get our housing (i.e. NOT near the river). That was quite a storm. Reminds me a little of what happened in Cornwall last year. What's up with the weather?
I'm looking forward to going. I have been doing some researach and it looks like there's plenty to keep me busy in the local area there for a long while.
Thanks for your well wishes...now the 'fun' begins (the logistics are daunting!)

Good Luck! It is truly beautiful up there and May Coventina (local water goddess) smile on you but not too much.
