This is the poem that was written for the Lady of the red river. It's an experiment with the rhupunt metre, hence the slightly clumsy feel the piece has, as I struggle to get to grips with it...
An Autumn Offering
Autumn walking, Magpies talking, Hunter stalking, Footfalls river drawn.
High on red ledge, White river sprays edge, Stand tall, chant pledge - Strong mead, well strewn.
Foam formed black hair, Linen draped, arms bare, Lip red, skin fair, Name soft spoken.
Homeward going, Red leaves blowing, Fingers glowing, Door kept open...

A lovely 3:1 rhyme, a form I have used a few times. It sounds like it should be repeated in cycles for hours?

It does have that feel to it, and it would be an interesting experiment to use it as a repeating chant or song... perhaps I shall visit the Lady soon...
