The following verse is the result of a bardic competition set by Mark on his blog, asking for poets to have a go at writing something in the Irish metre known as deibhidhe (‘jevvy’). There are various rules relating to syllable count, end and internal rhyme and alliteration, which are on Mark’s blog. Here’s my (seasonal) shot at doing it: Imbolc
