This will probably be of zero interest to anyone, but it's one of those "gotta tell ya" things.
Last Saturday, I actually got to see the Levellers live (at last) after loving them for about 18yrs! And they were brilliant! Woohoo!
Also saw Seth Lakeman (whoaa scarily f***ing brilliant), Dreadzone (hmm, surprisingly brilliant), 3 Daft Monkeys (taking me completely by surprise brilliant) and some others.
There. I feel better now. Brilliant.

You haven't told me how they were yet! I saw the Levellers at Rock City years back and they were indeed fantastic I've not seen Seth Lakeman live, but I do like his recorded stuff. All credit to him for bringing traditional music into the popular eye. I keep meaning to do a harp cover of White Hare, which is just a stunning song.

I would very much recommend Seth Lakeman, he was bloody superb. If you argue that rock is all about attitude, then he was up there with Slipknot, I swear on couple of occasions he was trying to saw the neck off his violin!

Seth Lakeman does a lot of stuff with Steve Knightley, writing and composing. Anyone guess who Steve Knightley is one half of? RR

You haven't told me how they were yet! I presume that question was to me BB? Well, imagine 200 people in a marquee, with the stage no more than 60 feet away at it's furthest place, and two guys who amble into the place wearing jeans and teeshirts and proceed to play songs using a variety of traditional instruments that sound exactly as they do on the recordings. Imagine one silly old bugger from CF with tears in his eyes at some of the songs, especially "Crow on the Cradle" (Just like Craig, I'm afraid!) The piece ended with my personal favourite "Roots" and a sore throat for the rest of the evening. Best evening I've had in ages!!! RR

ooo.. now you've seen the Levs, you must put Omnia on your to-see list. My current favourite beat-combo : something about a sing-along in a church that goes: "kill, maim, fight, slay, die" that appeals to me --edited cos YT changed the link

I like Omnia too Mazza? I still like Marilyn Manson, love his attitude, and find the way the American establishment reacts to him hysterical. He's a clever bloke. My ex once nicked the opening riff from what he thought would be an obscure Mazza track. Unfortunately for him, it turned out to be one of his biggest hits, the Beautiful People ;D Still, by the time my ex's song was finished, the resemblance wasn't too obvious. Sounds like SoH were as good as I thought they would be... what can I say, other than my eyes are still glowing green... I love Roots too, though my favourites are their versions of traditional songs like the Bonny Broomfields - the guitar work on that is just stunning. I also love Cousin Jack and the poachers song I'm afraid I can't stand Crow on the Cradle! Skip button at the ready when that one comes around

Yep, I like Marilyn Manson although I find his dogged attempts to shock to actually be more tiresome than shocking TBH. Still, 'Beautiful People' is one of my favourite ever songs, and also strangely the first thing my lad (who's seven) learnt to play on the drums. There are probably social services baulking at that.
It's ever the case that I have pretty eclectic musical tastes. Piled on my CD player ATM are Maroon 5, Orson, Del Amitri, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Mozart, Pantera, B-52s, Lacuna Coil and Evanescence. Pity the party that would ask me to DJ.

BTW, Omnia are very good aren't they, even though I don't usually go for 'pagan' music.
