Hello All,
What a great idea, Blackbird. Plenty of Irish sites around, but not much Brythonic. Not that my Welsh is any good, cos it isn't.
I'm Midori, Celtic Mutt! I'm a mix of Breton, Welsh, a bit of Irish and a scrape of Cornish. Unfortunately I do not have any live ancestors who can teach me about my heritage.
I'm 57 and widowed with 2 teenagers who are in the process of flying the coop.
I started out with the BDO, then joined OBOD and regretted it. I find OBOD's teaching style restrictive. I'm currently doing a course with the New Order of Druids, but it's Irish- based. I work in a shamanic way, very hands-on, not much ceremony, BDO is more my style, down to earth, practical stuff.
I go to camp twice a year in the New Forest with a bunch of Pagan Allsorts, mixed traditions, share ceremonies, songs and stories around campfire. Great fun, acoustic music only.
Well, basically that's me, folks!
BB Midori

Good to meet you Don't worry about the Welsh not being too good - I'm a learner myself, as my family have not been Welsh speaking for a few generations now. I'm finding that this is a great place to learn ;D hope you enjoy yourself here, Blessings, Angharad

Croeso Midori! I'm glad you found us! I hope you enjoy your time here, and don't worry about your Welsh, I think we're all learners here (some days are better for me than others!) I look forward to reading your posts Pob Bendith, Siaron

Hi Midori I suspect thats the druid camp a certain BDO/Druid's Network bod has been trying to entice me down to for the last couple of years. I'm getting closer to being worn down

Hello - great to see you here ;D
Branynos, it's not specifically a Druid camp - but there are a fair few who come, along with a load of Recons, Heathens, Wiccans... even a few Buddhists irrc... there are some excellent rituals, workshops and fireside entertainments... and I bring my harp...
;D

Hello - great to see you here ;D Branynos, it's not specifically a Druid camp ... Sounds like fun, and having had a cup of coffee and not being distracted by a boy I just realised I got my forests confused. Its the Forest of Dean that the Druid cmp happens in not the New Forest D'oh

Hi Branyos, I'd love to be able to go to the camp in the Forest of Dean also, but it's too expensive asi'm on a fixed income. The New Forest ones are semi-private camps with limited numbers.

I'm wondering about the Forest of Dean camp this year... I've been put off by the price in the past, but may be able to afford it this year.
(Sorry to hijack your intro, Midori!)
