Recently I've begun to study early "celtic" law (as in Irish, Welsh and Scottish). This in order to compare them to the early continental germanic laws.
Unfortunately I know very little of the Welsh laws, so my question is as follows: where do I start, any good publications on the matter? Are there any besides those of Hywel Dda?
Thanks

Look at T C E Charles-Edwards' little book 'The Welsh Laws', in the 'Writers of Wales' series for a good introduction: he's the world expert. For Irish, Fergus Kelly has done a book that's called something like 'A Guide to Early Irish Law'. Both are absolutely excelent, accessible, and written to the highest scholarly standards. As per usual, nothing written by neo-pagans on the subject is worth reading.

True, unfortunately.
I'll see if I can find it, thanks for the reference.

Recently I've begun to study early "celtic" law (as in Irish, Welsh and Scottish). Are there any besides those of Hywel Dda? I think it's worth also looking at the so-called "Venedotian Code". A compilation of the laws of Hywel Dda but with a North Walian emphasis and bias of relevance/focus - compiled at the behest of Iorweth ap Madog at the beginning of the thirteenth century. Probably the best bet for more information would be Megli or; Gir. Cambr. III 153; Llyfr Iorwerth: a Critical Text of the Venodotian Code of Medieval Welsh Law mainly from B. M. Cotton Titus D. ii, ed. A. R. Wiliam (Cardiff, 1960) pp. 43-4; Pryce, Huw (ed.) "The Acts of Welsh Rulers, 1120-1283, pp 414-(Cardiff, 2005)
