The Awen is the source of inspiration for Brythonic polytheists. In the twelfth century Gerald of Wales spoke of 'awenyddion', those who went into a trance state and returned to prophesy. This is the deep source of druidic wisdom both for those who follow a spiritual path in the modern druidic orders and for practitoners of traditional verse forms in Welsh and so the bards of the Welsh Eisteddfod tradition. Two previously active contributors to this forum have put together a volume of 'Offerings for the Awen' in an attempt to define the Awenydd identity as a path of inspiration for Brythonic polytheists. The volume is called The Deep Music and is availabe from this link:
