We've not heard from Brochfael either as yet. And yes the same group would be nice and more would be even better

I'll come clean... in over 20 years of being together, my wife and I have rarely spent nights apart. It has happened, when work and business leave me no choice, but I have left jobs that required it... it just isn't what we do. And given that she is the rationalist humanist in the house, I don't tend to do an awful lot of camps etc these days :-)
Not saying I won't be coming but in fairness to you discount me from the equation and let it be a bonus (hopefully) if I do, as I see the importance of the face to faces and so want to meet you.
Just thought it rude not to say anything at this juncture, even if it sounds a bit weedy...

Well let's call it May 28/29th then at my place - shall we say that's final so people can plan accordingly?
I'm just mindful of not wanting to appear as though I was taking over after having butted in with getting everyone to come back to my place after other suggestions had been made.
Perhaps Heron, Lee and me could meet up at The Ridgeway later in the year?

setting it as being on the 28th etc is a good move, something concrete.
im all for meeting up on the ridgeway later this year. might be a bit morbid that way at the moment with the bodies being found by the white horse.

Ooops sorry, dropped the thread inadvertantly. I've pencilled in the 28th/29th of May in my diary. That will be fine for me.

i think we should have at least the same crowd as last time, just need t hear from DG and Arth. everyone else seems up for it. I can't make May at all. I'm booked up to do a traditional earth charcoal burn and some country shows plus it's my wife's and daughters birthdays. Don't worry about me as I need to keep what weekends I have left to spend some quailty time with the family.

I haven't been around in a while, so I've missed all the past gatherings. I'd love to come to this one, if no-one has any objections. Assuming it's ok, Broch, could you grab us (Dylan and I) from a train station en-route and we'll sort you out some petrol money and a nice dinner by way of thanks

i will be heading there from London if you fancy some company on the train.. we cold train it the whole way. That'd be great! I have a disabled railcard too, so it'd make your ticket a bit cheaper (I think it's around a third) Shall I drop you a line next time we're heading down to the British Museum and we can meet for lunch or something to co-ordinate? Dylan wants to look at ammonites and find out how pyritised ammonites are formed, so we should be down soon ... the thought of a enthustiastically learning eleven year old boy is too appealing to resist

well, i am afraid i am no longer at the NHM. I work at Kew Gardens now in the herbarium. that said, i can always go over pyritization on the train especially as it is what my research projects were on/are on. im going to be devilishly busy the next month as i am moving house, visiting family then off to lyme regis fossil festival at the end of Aptil/early may. we can always communicate on here though

I have been instructed to prepare a feast for the journey
